1. Getting too drunk
A stag do is a night you want to remember forever; getting too drunk to the point where you can barely remember the night is always a bad idea. You also don’t want to wake up in a hospital so be careful.
2. Not planning ahead
Not having a solid plan or any activities planned out usually results in the group getting too drunk throughout the day because they simply have nothing better to do. That can be a lot of fun but it’s a shame to miss out on what may be the best night of your life just because you were bored during the day. Keep yourselves busy and sober and let loose when the time is right!
3. Counting on spontaneous party places
Being spontaneous might seem like a good idea but when you’re travelling abroad and doing something with a big group, you’ll soon realise that this is not the case. Be sure to find the right party destination that suits your taste, or else you might end up in an empty bar drinking alone.
4. Not booking the right activities
It is best do some research on what the best local activities are in the country that you are visiting. You might miss out on a unique experience if you just book something that seems fun and easy to attend. Some countries have beautiful things to offer and what could be an experience of a lifetime will turn out to be a very boring weekend if you don’t put enough thought into it. If you’re planning to visit Slovenia, you should consider rafting, cave kayaking, cycling, or canyoning! If you’re a fan of indoor activities or if you’re simply coming in the winter, a shooting course, skiing, snowboarding or even snow biking are all some activities you could do.
5. Counting on spontaneous adventures
The person organising the stag weekend should plan all the activities in advance as well. Don’t let the whole day depend on last moment decisions and end up doing nothing at all. A good solution is to book the activities up front or at least get your group a weekend guide who knows the city and will know where to take you at the right times. Make it an unforgettable experience not a boring afternoon!
6. Coming to the club too early or too late
Coming to the club too early usually results in you leaving the club and returning to a pub to drink more, which leaves you missing out on the real party! It’s also risky to continue drinking for too long or watching the strippers and get to the club too late – just another way to miss out on all the fun. If you attend our pub crawl we’ll make sure you’re at the right place at the right time.
7. Last minute purchases
Club entries, tables, drinks and even food can become way more expensive if you decide on it in the last moment. Not just that, the club or restaurant might be completely full by the time you decide to go there and you’ll be left empty-handed. Don’t let that happen to you on your big night!
